Q&A

Carlinkit not connecting - Solution

Whether you are using the Tbox series or the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto adapter series, if your CarlinKit product fails to connect, please note the following:

Scenario A: The vehicle does not recognize the CarlinKit product

Scenario B: The vehicle recognizes the product, but the phone cannot connect to wireless CarPlay or Android Auto

Scenario A: When the vehicle does not recognize the CarlinKit product

1. Use the product’s original data cable and insert the marked end into the vehicle’s data port (do not insert it into the port with the battery icon);

2. If the original data cable is not recognized, replace it with the phone’s original data cable to connect the product to the vehicle;

3. In the vehicle’s device connection history, delete the CarlinKit entry, then reinsert the CarlinKit product

4. For certain vehicles (e.g., Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen), you may need to turn off the engine and lock the car for at least 3 minutes to completely power down the car’s infotainment system before the device can be recognized again;

5. For Tbox series products: If the device was previously functioning normally but is no longer recognized by the car, and the issue persists after performing the steps above, please use a Windows computer to re-flash the Tbox software.

Scenario B: Unable to connect to CarPlay or Android Auto

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto adapters:

1. Use your phone to check if you can detect the adapter’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals. If either signal is missing, you cannot connect to wireless CarPlay or Android Auto. If a signal is missing, try upgrading the firmware via a USB drive. If you still cannot detect the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi signal after the upgrade, the device needs to be replaced;
2. If both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals are detectable, please reset the adapter and then:

CarPlay:

Go to iPhone > Settings > General > CarPlay, delete the saved connection, restart your phone, and reconnect.

Android Auto:

a. Update Android Auto to the latest version.

b. Clear the data for Android Auto and Google Play Services.

c. Try different Android Auto resolutions—one that matches your car’s screen size.

If the Tbox cannot connect to wireless Android Auto, in addition to the steps above, perform the following:

1. Open your phone’s Bluetooth list

2. Open the Tbox “BT Phone” app

3. Search for your phone’s Bluetooth and tap Connect
