If the firmware remains at the 2023 version without being updated, you may experience the device repeatedly rebooting until it resets. After the reset, if the device is not connected to the internet, it will no longer reboot.

Use a Micro SD card to update the box firmware to version update-A12-2024-04-01-11-45. This version is still Android 12, but it no longer reboots.

You can also continue using a Micro SD card to upgrade to version update-A13-2026-01-07-20-56-ucloud, which is Android 13 and will not cause a reboot.

How to check the version number:

Before CarlinKit Tbox reboots, disconnect it from the network (remove the SIM card or turn off the Wi-Fi connected to the Tbox). Once disconnected, CarlinKit Tbox will not reboot.

Then go to Settings > Version > Tbox Version to check.

Upgrade Instructions:

Rename the downloaded firmware file to “update” (keep the .zip format) and place it in the root directory of the memory card (NTFS-formatted memory cards are not supported), as shown in P1.

Insert the memory card into the box. An upgrade prompt will appear on the car’s screen; simply tap “Confirm,” as shown in P2.
